Short description
Paddington has settled into life with the Brown family in London and become a well-liked figure in his neighbourhood. With his Aunt Lucy's hundredth birthday approaching, he sets out to find her a suitable present and settles on a rare pop-up book he discovers at an antique shop. To afford it, he takes on a string of odd jobs, but the book is stolen before he can buy it, sending Paddington and the Browns in pursuit of the thief.
Paul King directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker, following his 2014 adaptation of the same character and preceding Wonka in 2023. Ben Whishaw voices Paddington, with Sally Hawkins, Hugh Bonneville, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin and Julie Walters among the live-action cast. David Heyman produced. The film runs 104 minutes.
Released in 2017, Paddington 2 was made for about 40 million US dollars and took roughly 227 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 7.8/10 from 113,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.5/10 from 2,903 votes. A critics' rating of 8.7/10 from 253 reviews places it noticeably above both audience scores.

- English writer and screenwriter Michael Bond (1926-2017), the creator of Paddington Bear, passed away six months before the film's release.
- The address where the world's most polite bear lives – 32 Windsor Gardens in Notting Hill – does not actually exist. Writer Michael Bond invented it, “mixing” the address of his parents, Winser Drive, and his own – Arundel Gardens.
- After completing the underwater filming for Guillermo del Toro's 2017 science fiction drama 'The Shape of Water,' Sally Hawkins (who played Mary Brown in Paul King's film) flew from Toronto, Canada, to London for filming, where she learned that she would also have underwater scenes there.
- A pop-up book for the film was released in a limited collector's edition, containing six 'pop-up' scenes from the movie.
