Stepfather 2

Jerry Blake, the serial killer who murders families that fail to meet his standards, has survived the wounds inflicted at the end of the first film and escapes from the psychiatric hospital where he was held. Settling in a new town under a new identity, he poses as a marriage and family counselor and courts Carol Grayland, a divorced real estate agent, while winning the affection of her young son Todd. Carol's close friend Matty grows suspicious of the newcomer, and Blake turns violent to protect the domestic life he is trying to assemble.

Jeff Burr directed this sequel, his first feature, followed by Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III in 1990, several Puppet Master entries, Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings and Alien Tornado. John Auerbach wrote the screenplay, and William Burr and Darin Scott produced. Terry O'Quinn returns as the title character opposite Meg Foster as Carol, with Caroline Williams, Jonathan Brandis, Henry Brown and Mitchell Laurance in supporting roles.

Made on a budget of about 2 million dollars, the film took roughly the same amount at the worldwide box office. On IMDb it holds 5.6 out of 10 from around 5,500 votes, and on TMDB 5.5 out of 10 from about 127 votes.
