Evil Toons

Four young women take a cleaning job at an old house, expecting an easy payday. A mysterious visitor, Gideon Fisk, leaves them an antique book filled with magic incantations. Reading from it, they accidentally bring a cartoon creature into the real world, and the thing turns out to be lecherous and bloodthirsty, with the women left to deal with the consequences.

Fred Olen Ray directed and wrote the film, the tenth of the twenty-seven features he directed in chronological order, following Inner Sanctum and preceding Fugitive Rage. David Carradine plays Gideon Fisk, with Monique Gabrielle, Arte Johnson, Dick Miller, Madison Stone and Suzanne Ager among the cast.

Released in 1992 and running 83 minutes, the film mixes animation, comedy and horror. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.2 out of 10 from about 4,300 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 4.9 out of 10 from a much smaller base of roughly 130 votes. A critics' rating of 4 out of 10 from six reviews places it close to the audience scores, indicating broad agreement rather than a sharp divide between reviewers and viewers.
