Foxes

Four teenage girls share a house in Los Angeles and drift through a world of parties, sex and drugs while their parents and school life offer little support. Jeanie lives with her mother and a father who does not understand her, and her friends Madge, Deirdre and Annie are never far away. The arrangement holds until Annie runs away from home, which forces the group to reckon with what their friendship actually means.

Foxes was released in 1980 and marked Adrian Lyne's first feature as director, arriving three years before Flashdance and seven before Fatal Attraction. Gerald Ayres wrote the screenplay and produced alongside David Puttnam. Jodie Foster plays Jeanie, with Cherie Currie as Annie, Marilyn Kagan as Madge, Kandice Stroh as Deirdre, Scott Baio as Brad and Sally Kellerman as Mary, among a credited cast of 38.

The film took about 7 million dollars at the worldwide box office. On IMDb it holds 6.1 out of 10 from roughly 5,400 votes, and on TMDB 6 out of 10 from around 100 votes. A critics' rating of 5.7 out of 10 from 11 reviews places critical and audience assessments close together.
