Virgin Mountain

Fúsi, 43, still lives with his mother in Iceland and follows a routine that keeps the outside world at a distance. He has never had a girlfriend, and his time goes into scale models of Second World War battles and remote-controlled cars. His co-workers treat him with mockery, and he does not push back. Two new presences unsettle his habits: Hera, a young girl who lives nearby, and a dance class he attends without really choosing to. There he meets Sjöfn, and the feelings she stirs in him begin to open up a life he had kept closed.

Dagur Kári directed and wrote the film, his third feature after Dramarama and Noi the Albino. Gunnar Jónsson plays Fúsi, with Ilmur Kristjánsdóttir as Sjöfn, Sigurjón Kjartansson, Franziska Una Dagsdóttir, Margrét Helga Jóhannsdóttir and Arnar Jónsson in supporting roles. Agnes Johansen and Baltasar Kormákur produced; the film is a Danish-Icelandic co-production and runs 90 minutes.

On TMDB it holds 7.2 out of 10 from 285 votes, a solid score from a modest number of viewers. The film was released in March 2015.
