Short description
Jason Bourne has been living off the grid, his memory restored but his questions unanswered. When Nicky Parsons, a former CIA analyst, resurfaces with information about his past, she draws him out of hiding and back into the sights of the agency that made him. Bourne, who has spent years trying to reconstruct what was done to him, now wants to know why. His search puts him in conflict with senior CIA figures determined to bury the programme's secrets, and with a skilled operative sent to eliminate him.
Paul Greengrass directs and shares writing credits with Christopher Rouse, returning to the series after The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum. Matt Damon again plays the title role, joined by Tommy Lee Jones, Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel, Julia Stiles and Riz Ahmed. The production was substantial, with a budget of 120 million USD, and it took 415 million USD worldwide.
Jason Bourne opened on July 27, 2016 and runs 123 minutes. On IMDb it holds 6.6/10 from 256,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.4/10 from 6,368 votes. A film critics' rating of 5.9/10 from 326 reviews places it below both audience scores. Greengrass's next feature after this was 22 July, followed by News of the World, The Lost Bus and The Uprising.
