Lou spends her nights drinking and taking drugs in a run-down trailer community where former Marines live alongside rumors of strange abductions. After one heavy night, she wakes with symptoms she cannot explain and visions that will not stop. Her best friend Sadie stays close as Lou becomes convinced that something otherworldly has entered her body, while fear and conspiracy theories spread around her.
Antibirth is a 2016 horror film from Canada and the United States, written and directed by Danny Perez, produced by Justin Kelly, Natasha Lyonne and Cole Payne, and made for about four million dollars. Lyonne plays Lou, with Chloë Sevigny as Sadie, Meg Tilly as Lorna, Mark Webber as Gabriel, Maxwell McCabe-Lokos as Warren and Emmanuel Kabongo as Luke. The film runs ninety-four minutes.
Reception was muted: on IMDb it holds 4.9 from roughly 3,800 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.0 from a much smaller vote count. A critics' rating of 5.4 from thirty-four reviews places it close to those audience figures, with neither group showing much enthusiasm.
