Short description

Set in the Italian countryside during the late 1930s, this drama explores the oppressive atmosphere inside a family estate. Guido Maldini rules the household with a violent and controlling nature, demanding absolute obedience from his wife and children. The central conflict focuses on his son, Alberto, a sensitive young man who wishes to escape his father's dominance. The arrival of a cousin named Gloria sparks a romance with Alberto, which creates further tension when Guido discovers that his sister intends to leave the estate to his son.
