I Am Wrath

Stanley Hill is an ordinary, unemployed engineer until his wife Vivian is murdered in front of him. When the police investigation stalls and the legal case against those responsible falls apart, Stanley stops waiting for justice. He reaches out to his old friend Dennis, and the two men, who once did dangerous work together, begin hunting down the criminals themselves. Their pursuit soon exposes corruption reaching well beyond the streets, and Stanley starts to realize his wife's death was connected to something larger than a random crime.

The film is directed by Chuck Russell, whose earlier work includes A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, The Blob, The Mask and Eraser. John Travolta plays Stanley, with Christopher Meloni as Dennis, Amanda Schull as Abbie, Sam Trammell as Detective Gibson, Patrick St. Esprit as Governor Meserve and Rebecca De Mornay as Vivian. Paul Sloan wrote the screenplay, and Michael Mendelsohn and Rob Carliner produced.

Released in 2016, the film runs 92 minutes. It was made on a budget of 18 million dollars. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.4 from more than fifteen thousand votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.8 from a much smaller pool of voters. A critics' rating of 3.1 from ten reviews places it below both audience scores.
