Sarah Barton lives in a small Nevada town, passing her days between a job as a cashier and a boyfriend, in a routine that leaves her unsatisfied. Her life shifts when she meets Pepper, a drifter who deals drugs, and the friendship between the two women develops into a romance. Through Pepper, Sarah is drawn into a world of narcotics, drinking and strip clubs, and toward a sense of freedom she had not known before. The film follows her as she weighs that new life against what she already has.
Bare is a 2015 American drama written and directed by Natalia Leite, who also produced it with Chad Burris and Alexandra Roxo. It was her first feature, followed by M.F.A. in 2017. Dianna Agron plays Sarah, with Paz de la Huerta as Pepper and Chris Zylka as Haden, alongside Louisa Krause, Mary Price Moore and Alexandra Roxo among a credited cast of 33. The film runs 91 minutes.
Audience response has been modest. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.1 out of 10 from around 2,700 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 4.5 out of 10 from a much smaller number of votes. The higher vote count on IMDb gives that average more weight than the TMDB figure, though both point to a limited reception.
