Luke Vaughn is a casino worker whose daughter needs urgent medical care he cannot afford. When his former boss, a crime lord known as the Pope, refuses to help, Vaughn teams up with a volatile co-worker to steal from the casino's vault. Their plan collapses, and the two men, with a hostage in tow, flee in a city bus and end up holding its passengers as the vehicle heads for the Mexican border. As the chase stretches on, it becomes clear that the hijacking was not entirely a matter of chance. Robert De Niro plays the Pope, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Vaughn, Kate Bosworth as Sydney, Dave Bautista as Cox, Gina Carano as Kris and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Marconi.
Scott Mann directed the film, using a screenplay by Stephen C. Sepher and Max Adams. It is his second feature, following The Tournament and preceding Final Score and Fall. The production brought together companies from the United States and the United Kingdom, and the credited cast and crew ran to dozens of names.
Released in November 2015, the film drew 6.1 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 34,000 votes and the same score on TMDB from about 1,020 votes, a modest audience response. A critics' rating of 4.9 out of 10 from 27 reviews places critical opinion below those audience scores. Made for 9 million USD, it returned 3 million USD worldwide.
