Pinocchio

A wooden puppet created by a carpenter named Geppetto comes to life through the help of a fairy. To develop a real heart and become a truthful boy, the naive Pinocchio must learn to do good and act with maturity. Accompanied by a cricket who serves as his conscience, he leaves home and faces numerous dangers, including encounters with thieves and a journey to a land for children. While Geppetto searches for him at sea, the puppet undergoes a series of trials that teach him the value of family and honesty.

This adventure drama was directed by Alberto Sironi and written by Ivan Cotroneo and Carlo Mazzotta. An italo-British production from Rai Fiction, Lux Vide, and Power, the story was released as a two-part miniseries in November 2009. The cast features Bob Hoskins as Geppetto and Robbie Kay as the titular character, alongside Luciana Littizzetto, Margherita Buy, Violante Placido, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.
