Short description
The Final is a horror thriller about a group of high school outcasts who seek revenge against the peers that bullied them. The students organize a party to lure their tormentors into a trap, where they subject their classmates to various physical and psychological tortures based on their own past humiliations.
The film was directed by Joey Stewart, marking the first entry in a directorial chronology that later includes What's the Story, Wishbone? in 2026. What's left behind the scenes
- The 'guards' in the forest are also three outcasts (they could be seen on the school stairs and in the cafeteria), but not the ones from the party, although they wear the same costumes. This was intended to confuse the police. Due to time constraints, this plotline was cut from the film.
- For the film's premiere, the Syfy Universal cable channel cut two scenes in which the students meet at a grain store; as a result, the subplot about the students being driven to the party—so that no one could determine the party's location—was removed from the film.
- Lionsgate and After Dark Films changed the original movie poster: instead of an image of masked criminals with weapons closing in on schoolgirls, they placed a girl at a desk in a classroom on the poster.
- During filming, prop needles repeatedly pierced through prop necks and chests, and Daniel Ross suffered several noticeable pricks.
