Naomi Bishop is a senior investment banker who has built her career in the aggressive, high-stakes world of Wall Street finance, where she has learned to get what she wants. Her position comes under pressure when a public offering she is handling becomes the subject of rumors, and the fallout threatens both her professional standing and her private life. Rather than step back, she begins looking into what is happening around the deal, and the further she goes, the more she finds evidence of corruption running through the financial industry. The scandal she uncovers could bring down powerful figures, but exposing it could also damage her own future.
The film is a drama directed by Meera Menon, her first feature, followed later by Didn't Die, from a screenplay by Amy Fox. Anna Gunn plays Naomi, with James Purefoy, Sarah Megan Thomas, Alysia Reiner, Sophie von Haselberg and Craig Bierko among the cast. Sarah Megan Thomas and Alysia Reiner produced the independent production, which was made by Broad Street Pictures and released in July 2016.
It received a modest theatrical run, with worldwide box office around 2 million dollars, a figure in keeping with a small independent release. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.6 out of 10 from roughly 4,000 votes, and on TMDB it also sits at 5.6 out of 10, from around 108 votes. A critics' rating of 6.4 out of 10 from 98 reviews places professional appraisal somewhat above the audience scores.
