Bruno has spent years making the rounds of the wine stands at the Paris agricultural show without ever stepping outside the exhibition hall or finishing his route. His father Jean, a farmer who brings his prize bull to the fair, decides to change that this year: rather than sampling wines on the premises, the two of them will travel the wine regions of France for real. Their strained relationship is the reason for the trip, but it also makes the journey difficult. Along for the ride is Mike, a young and eccentric taxi driver, and the three men encounter women and complications at the vineyards and restaurants they pass through.
Saint Amour is a 2016 comedy-drama directed by Gustave Kervern and Benoît Delépine, who also wrote and produced it. It is a French and Belgian co-production, and the third of the directors' collaborations listed here, following Louise-Michel in 2008 and preceding Animal Totem and Enough is Enough!, with And Now It's Over after those. Benoît Poelvoorde plays Bruno and Gérard Depardieu plays Jean, with Vincent Lacoste as Mike. Chiara Mastroianni, Solène Rigot and Céline Sallette appear among the 31 credited cast members.
The film runs 101 minutes. On TMDB it holds a rating of 5.7 out of 10 from 166 votes, a modest response from a limited number of viewers.
