Short description
Set in Germany during the 1920s, this drama follows brothers Adolf and Rudolf Dassler as they establish a sportswear company in Herzogenaurach. While their combined technical and commercial skills lead to initial success and partnerships with top athletes, tensions grow between them. These conflicts are worsened by the events of World War II, which nearly halts their production. By 1948, their partnership completely collapses, resulting in the split of the family business into two competing brands, Adidas and Puma.
The film was directed by Oliver Dommenget, marking his second feature following Marco W. - 247 Tage im türkischen Gefängnis. The screenplay was written by Christian Schnalke. The lead roles are played by Ken Duken as Adi Dassler and Torben Liebrecht as Rudi Dassler, supported by a credited cast of 21 actors including Christopher Gareisen, Martin Hentschel, David C. - Although the film is silent on the political views of the Dassler brothers (played by Ken Duken and Torben Liebricht) during the Nazi period, they officially became members of the NSDAP in 1933 and remained so until the end of the war.
