Borderlands

Borderlands is an action adventure comedy set in a science-fiction universe. Lilith, a bounty hunter with a murky past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora, described as the most chaotic world in the galaxy. She is hired to find the missing daughter of the powerful Atlas, a mission that forces her into an uneasy alliance with a group of misfits. Her recruits include Roland, a former mercenary; Tiny Tina, a young explosives enthusiast, and her muscular protector Krieg; the eccentric scientist Tannis; and Claptrap, a talkative robot. Together they must fend off alien creatures and bands of bandits while searching for the girl, who is said to hold the key to an extraordinary power.

The film is directed by Eli Roth, who wrote the screenplay with Joe Crombie. It follows Roth's Thanksgiving (2023) in his directing credits and came before Ice Cream Man (2026); Tim Miller, whose previous films include Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate, also directed. Cate Blanchett leads the cast as Lilith, with Kevin Hart as Roland, Edgar Ramírez as Atlas, Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina and Florian Munteanu as Krieg. It is based on the video game series of the same name.

Released in August 2024, the film had a budget of 115 million US dollars and took about 33 million US dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 10 from 57,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.5 out of 10 from 1,574 votes, while the critics' rating stands at 3.3 out of 10 from 167 reviews.
