Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah

A group of visitors from the 23rd century arrives in Japan with a warning: Godzilla will bring catastrophe to the nation, and they claim they can prevent it by erasing the creature from history. A writer, a professor and a psychic are drawn into their plan, which involves travelling back to the Pacific island where the dinosaur that became Godzilla once lived. Something goes wrong with the mission, however, and soon a different and more dangerous monster is threatening Japan.

Kazuki Ōmori directed and wrote the film, his third feature in the order given and his second Godzilla entry after Godzilla vs. Biollante. Tomoyuki Tanaka and Shogo Tomiyama produced it for Toho Pictures. The cast includes Kosuke Toyohara, Katsuhiko Sasaki, Anna Nakagawa, Megumi Odaka, Akiji Kobayashi and Tokuma Nishioka. Ōmori returned to a time-travel premise that moves between wartime 1944 and the early 1990s.

Made on a budget of around 12 million dollars, the film took in roughly 11 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.5 out of 10 from about 8,200 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.9 out of 10 from some 276 votes, so the two audience scores are fairly close. It runs 103 minutes and belongs to the action, adventure and science fiction genres.
