One Piece Film: Gold follows the Straw Hat pirates as they arrive at Gran Tesoro, a massive floating entertainment city that operates beyond the reach of the World Government. The promise of easy winnings is hard to resist, and the crew's luck at the tables soon draws the attention of Gild Tesoro, the gold-obsessed ruler who controls the city through his Devil Fruit power. What begins as a gambling visit turns into a struggle against a man whose influence extends far beyond his own casino.
The film was directed by Hiroaki Miyamoto, with a screenplay by Tsutomu Kuroiwa and Clint Bickham, and it forms part of the long-running anime feature series. It was released in Japan in July 2016 and runs two hours. The voice cast includes Mayumi Tanaka as Monkey D. Luffy, Kazuya Nakai as Roronoa Zoro, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Kappei Yamaguchi as Usopp, Hiroaki Hirata as Sanji and Yuriko Yamaguchi as Nico Robin, among 33 credited performers.
On IMDb the film holds a rating of 7.1 from around 8,800 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.2 from roughly 550 votes. A critics' score of 6.2 from nine reviews places it somewhat below the audience response. It earned about 66 million dollars worldwide, a solid result for an anime feature of its scale.
