Didier

Jean-Pierre Costa is a football manager whose life is not going well. His friend Annabelle leaves her Labrador, Didier, in his care while she travels to Los Angeles for work, and one of his best players is injured shortly before an important match, leaving the team short-handed. Then Costa wakes up to find that the dog has turned into a man, though Didier keeps the habits and instincts of a four-legged animal.

The film is Alain Chabat's first as director, and he also wrote the screenplay, with Claude Berri producing. Chabat plays the transformed Didier, while Jean-Pierre Bacri takes the role of Costa. Isabelle Gélinas, Lionel Abelanski, Caroline Cellier and Chantal Lauby appear alongside them, among a credited cast of 27. The French comedy runs 104 minutes, was made for a budget of 54 million USD, and was released on 29 January 1997.

Ratings are mixed: on IMDb it holds 6.3/10 from around 5,300 votes, and on TMDB 6.1/10 from roughly 667 votes, suggesting a modest but steady response from viewers rather than a widely admired title.
