Fantasy Mission Force
Short description
Set during World War II, this story follows a mission to rescue allied generals who have been captured by Japanese forces. To keep the kidnappings secret and maintain military morale, a determined captain is tasked with assembling a team of mercenaries and unconventional fighters. Recruited with promises of gold and legal pardons, the group consists of loners, criminals, and skilled combatants. As they move toward their goal, the team faces internal conflicts and strange obstacles, including encounters with a group of Amazons and other unexpected threats.
The film was directed by Chu Yen-ping, marking the first entry in a list of six films he directed, followed by Island of Fire in 1991. The cast features Jackie Chan as Sammy and Brigitte Lin as Lily, alongside Adam Cheng Siu-Chow, Jimmy Wang Yu, Hsu Pu-Liao, and Fang Cheng. Produced by Cheung Ming Film and Chang Chiang Film (Taiwan) Co., the production was a joint effort between Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Audience reception for the movie was mixed. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 4.6/10 based on 2,200 votes, while on TMDB, it has a score of 4.8/10 from 58 votes.

- Despite its low quality and negative reviews, the film achieved a small cult status in certain circles, mainly due to its strange combination of genres.
- “Project A” was the second film to feature a final fight between Jackie Chan and Yu Wang, the first being “Snake in the Eagle's Shadow” (1976).
