Ordinary World

Perry is a married father living a quiet suburban life and working in his family's store, with his years as the lead singer of a punk band well behind him. When his fortieth birthday arrives and his wife and daughter fail to remember it, his brother steps in and pays for a party at a New York hotel. The celebration brings Perry back together with his former bandmates, his old friend Gary and a woman from his past, and forces his punk history up against his settled adult reality.

Ordinary World was released in 2016. It is a comedy-drama from the United States, produced by Process Media, and runs 86 minutes. Lee Kirk directed and wrote the screenplay, with Tony Lee, Alex A. Ginzburg and Tim Perell producing. It was the first of the two features Kirk has directed to date, ahead of Nimrods. Billie Joe Armstrong leads the cast as Perry, alongside Fred Armisen, Judy Greer, Selma Blair, Chris Messina and Brian Baumgartner, among 22 credited cast members and 42 credited crew.

Audience response has been mixed: on IMDb the film holds 5.5 out of 10 from around 3,400 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 5.7 out of 10 from 99 votes. Both figures point to a modest reception rather than a broad one.
