Cult of Chucky

Cult of Chucky centres on Nica Pierce, who has spent four years in an institution for the criminally insane, convinced that she, and not the doll Chucky, killed her family. Her psychiatrist introduces a Good Guy doll as a tool for group therapy sessions, and a series of deaths follows inside the facility. Nica begins to reconsider what really happened to her family, while Andy Barclay, now grown, tries to reach her. Tiffany, Chucky's bride, works against him.

Don Mancini wrote and directed the film, the third he has directed in the series after Seed of Chucky and Curse of Chucky. Fiona Dourif returns as Nica, with Brad Dourif voicing Chucky, Alex Vincent as Andy, Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany, and Michael Therriault as Dr. Foley, among 24 credited cast and 136 credited crew. David Kirschner and Ogden Gavanski produced.

Released in 2017, the film runs 91 minutes and mixes comedy, horror and thriller elements. Made for about 7 million dollars, it took in roughly 2 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.3 out of 10 from around 34,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.9 out of 10 from about 1,400 votes. Critics gave it 6.2 out of 10 across 26 reviews, a warmer reception than the audience scores suggest.
