Greg Van Huffel runs a company that fabricates alibis for clients who need to hide where they have really been. With his business partner Augustin and their new employee Medhi, Greg arranges cover stories and staged scenes for customers whose private lives would not survive the truth. The business thrives until Greg meets Flo, a woman who cannot stand liars, and he decides to keep the real nature of his work from her. The situation grows more difficult when he is introduced to her parents and discovers that her father, Gérard, is one of the agency's clients.
Philippe Lacheau directed and co-wrote the film with Julien Arruti and Pierre Dudan, and he also plays Greg. It was his third feature behind the camera, following Babysitting in 2014 and Babysitting 2 in 2015. The cast includes Élodie Fontan as Flo, Arruti as Augustin, Tarek Boudali as Medhi, Nathalie Baye as Flo's mother, and Didier Bourdon as her father. Alexandra Fechner produced.
Made for about 8 million dollars, the comedy took roughly 29 million dollars worldwide, a strong return for a French production of its size. Audience scores sit at 6.5 out of 10 on IMDb from around 11,000 votes and 6.5 out of 10 on TMDB, while a small sample of critics rated it 5.1 out of 10, lower than the general audience response. The film later continued with Alibi.com 2 in 2023 and a third instalment announced for 2027.
