The Boogey Man

A traumatic childhood event binds Lacey and her brother Willy. As children, they witness their mother's lover being killed, and the shock leaves Willy unable to speak. Twenty years on, Lacey is a married woman with children, still haunted by nightmares, and her mute brother lives with her. When a mirror connected to that night is broken, the violent spirit of the dead man is released, and a series of killings begins around the surviving members of the family and anyone who encounters the shattered glass.

The film is a 1980 American horror picture directed by Ulli Lommel, who also produced and co-wrote the screenplay with David Herschel and Suzanna Love. It follows Lommel's earlier directorial work and precedes Olivia, which he made in 1983. Love, Lommel's collaborator and later his wife, plays Lacey, with Ron James as Jake, Nicholas Love as Willy and John Carradine as Dr. Warren. The credited cast runs to twenty performers. It was made by The Jerry Gross Organization and runs eighty-two minutes.
