Mower Minions

Mower Minions is a short animated comedy in which the Minions spot a banana blender advertised on television and set out to earn the money to buy it. Since they have no cash on hand, they offer their services mowing lawns at a retirement home, and their attempts at yard work quickly descend into mayhem. The film runs four minutes and was released in cinemas in July 2016, playing alongside The Secret Life of Pets.

The short was directed by Bruno Chauffard and Glenn McCoy, who also co-wrote it with Dave Rosenbaum. It was produced by Illumination and originated in the United States and France. It marks the first directing credit for both Chauffard and McCoy, whose later work includes the short Santa's Little Helpers and the Minions & More collections. Pierre Coffin voices the Minions, with Rosenbaum as Dave and Jody Gelb as an elderly resident. Audiences have received it moderately well: on IMDb it holds a 6.7 rating from roughly 4,500 votes, and on TMDB it also sits at 6.7, from around 200 votes. The similarity between the two scores suggests a consistent, if unspectacular, response across both audiences.
