Clint Eastwood directed this 1973 romantic drama about Breezy, a free-spirited young hippie woman, and Frank Harmon, a middle-aged, divorced real estate agent in Los Angeles whose life has grown routine after a string of failed relationships. When they meet by chance, Frank keeps his distance, but Breezy is not easily discouraged, and a bond slowly builds between them despite the gap in their ages and backgrounds. Complications arise from the reactions of the people around them. Released in November 1973, the film runs 108 minutes. It was made by Universal Pictures and Malpaso Productions, written by Jo Heims and produced by Robert Daley. William Holden plays Frank, with Kay Lenz as Breezy; the credited cast of 23 also features Roger C. Carmel, Marj Dusay, Joan Hotchkis and Jamie Smith-Jackson. The production followed Eastwood's High Plains Drifter the same year and preceded The Eiger Sanction; it is the third of the forty films he directed in chronological order. On IMDb, audience viewers rated it 6.8 out of 10 from 154 votes. A smaller group of film critics was more favourable, averaging 7.3 out of 10 across eight reviews.
