Where'd You Go, Bernadette

Bernadette Fox is a former architect living in Seattle with her husband Elgie, a Microsoft executive, and their teenage daughter Bee. She has grown isolated from the other parents at Bee's school and relies on a virtual assistant for everyday tasks. When Bee asks for a family trip to Antarctica as a reward for her grades, Bernadette agrees, but she disappears shortly before the departure. Bee and Elgie then set out to find her, a search that takes them far from home.

The film is an adaptation of Maria Semple's novel, directed by Richard Linklater from a screenplay he wrote with Vincent Palmo Jr. and Holly Gent. It is the seventeenth of the twenty-two films Linklater has directed, following Last Flag Flying and preceding Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood. Cate Blanchett plays Bernadette, with Billy Crudup as Elgie, Emma Nelson as Bee, Kristen Wiig as Audrey, Judy Greer as Dr. Kurtz and Laurence Fishburne as Paul Jellinek. The production involved 115 credited cast members and 48 credited crew.
