Whiteboyz

Set in a predominantly white town in Iowa, the story follows Flip, a young man who aspires to be a hip-hop star. He adopts the clothing and slang of African American culture and spends his time practicing with friends while pretending to deal drugs by selling flour as cocaine. This fantasy world blinds him to the struggles of his actual life, including his father's unemployment, his mother's reliance on food stamps, and his girlfriend's pregnancy. His detachment from reality is challenged during a trip to Chicago to source drugs, where he encounters genuine violence from the police.
