Short description
A foster family in South Central a few weeks before the city erupts in violence following the verdict of the Rodney King trial in 1992.
What's left behind the scenes
- Deniz Gamze Ergüven wrote the screenplay around 2013. She intended it to be her debut, but was unable to find sponsors for the project. A friend suggested she work on something less ambitious, and the film “Mustang” (2015) was made, which was subsequently nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. After such a debut, she found funding for this project as well.
