Summerfield

Simon Robinson, a new teacher, arrives in a small, isolated village to take charge of the local school and finds that his predecessor vanished without explanation. The townspeople show little interest in the matter, so Simon begins asking questions on his own. His attention turns toward Summerfield, a forbidding estate on an island reached by a long, narrow bridge, where he becomes involved with the Abbott family while suspecting they know more about the missing teacher than they admit.

The film is an Australian drama and mystery directed by Ken Hannam, from a screenplay by Clifford Green and produced by Patricia Lovell. It was Hannam's first feature, followed two years later by Dawn!, and it stars Nick Tate as Simon, with John Waters and Elizabeth Alexander as David and Jenny Abbott, alongside Charles Tingwell, Michelle Jarman and Max Cullen.
