Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole is an animated fantasy adventure about Soren, a young owl who is taken from his home by soldiers of an oppressive owl army. He escapes with other captives, among them a small companion named Gylfie, and sets out to find the Great Tree, home of the legendary Guardians of Ga'Hoole, the only force that might stand against the invaders. Soren's brother Kludd is taken by the same army but chooses a different path. The film adapts Kathryn Lasky's Guardians of Ga'Hoole books and was directed by Zack Snyder.

It is the fourth of the fifteen films Snyder has directed, following Watchmen and preceding Sucker Punch. John Orloff and Emil Stern wrote the screenplay, and Zareh Nalbandian produced. The voice cast includes Jim Sturgess as Soren, Ryan Kwanten as Kludd, Emily Barclay as Gylfie, Hugo Weaving as Noctus and Grimble, Helen Mirren as Nyra, and Geoffrey Rush as Ezylryb; twenty-two cast members are credited.

Made by Animal Logic with Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures, the film cost about 80 million dollars and returned roughly 140 million dollars worldwide. It holds a 6.9 rating on IMDb from around 92,000 votes and a 6.8 on TMDB from some 2,500 votes. The critics' rating stands at 5.6 out of 10 from 133 reviews, below both audience scores.
