Set in Spain, this drama and war film follows childhood friends who reunite as adults in a tuberculosis sanatorium. Having witnessed the violence of the Spanish Civil War as children, the characters struggle with lasting trauma and hidden secrets. As they face the reality of their illness, the relationship between Manuel and Ramallo evolves, contrasting Manuel's religious devotion with Ramallo's rejection of their condition.
The film was directed by Agustí Villaronga, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Antonio Aloy and Biel Mesquida. This production precedes Villaronga's 2010 film Black Bread. The cast features Roger Casamajor as Ramallo, Bruno Bergonzini as Manuel, and Antonia Torrens as Sor Francisca, with additional performances by Juli Mira, Simón Andreu, and Ángela Molina. Produced by Peccadillo Pictures, the movie has a runtime of 108 minutes.
