Short description
While traveling abroad, a guy falls for a Romanian beauty whose unreachable heart has its origins in her violent, charismatic ex.

What's left behind the scenes

  • When Charlie Countryman (Shia LaBeouf) is driving from the airport, the taxi driver jokingly calls him Robert Redford. Much later, in an episode in pre-dawn Bucharest, after trouble at a nightclub, Rupert Grint's character asks Charlie if he got into a situation similar to the events of "Three Days of the Condor" (1975). The fact is that Robert Redford played the main role in that film. Moreover, before "Man on a Ledge", Shia LaBeouf starred in the thriller "The Company You Keep" (2012), where Robert Redford acted as both director and lead actor.
  • At an early stage of the film's creation, Shia LaBeouf left the project, and during this period his role was offered to Zac Efron, but LaBeouf eventually returned.
  • In one of the dialogues, Darko mentions James Bond films to Charlie. Mads Mikkelsen played the villain in "Casino Royale" (2006).
  • During filming, Shia LaBeouf actually took LSD to make the corresponding scene in the film look more natural.
