Fantozzi Retires

Ugo Fantozzi retires after spending thirty years working as a accountant for a large corporation. Expecting a peaceful life, he instead finds that his newfound freedom brings a different set of frustrations and stress. He attempts to fill his time with various activities, such as learning golf, visiting Venice, babysitting his granddaughter Uga, and helping Pina with shopping. Unable to handle the inactivity, he eventually tries to secure a new job using forged documents. His struggles continue as he becomes a hypochondriac and fails to act on an opportunity with Miss Silvani.

This Italian comedy was directed by Neri Parenti and is the sixth of 15 films he directed, following School of Thieves 2 and preceding Fantozzi to the Rescue. The screenplay was written by Leonardo Benvenuti, Paolo Villaggio, and Piero De Bernardi. The film stars Paolo Villaggio in the title role, alongside Milena Vukotić, Gigi Reder, Anna Mazzamauro, Plinio Fernando, and Paul Müller. It was produced by Mario Cecchi Gori and Vittorio Cecchi Gori.
