Six strangers arrive in Uobuka, a port town in decline, and Hajime Tsukisue, a city official, is assigned to help them settle in. Around the same time, Fumi, a woman who attended the same high school as Tsukisue, returns to the town. Tsukisue comes to realise that the newcomers share a past: all of them are former prisoners, each convicted of murder, relocated under a parole scheme meant to reintegrate them into ordinary life. Most residents know nothing about the backgrounds of their new neighbours, and the quiet town begins to change.
The film is based on a manga by Tatsuhiko Yamagami, with a screenplay by Masahito Kagawa. It is set in the present day and moves between the routines of municipal work and the tension produced by secrets kept from a small community. Ryo Nishikido plays Tsukisue, with Fumino Kimura, Ryuhei Matsuda, Kazuki Kitamura and Yuka among the cast.
Daihachi Yoshida directed; in chronological order the facts list this 2018 film and Teki Cometh (2025). Released in Japan in February 2018, it runs 126 minutes. On IMDb it holds 6.4/10 from 647 votes, and on TMDB 6.1/10 from 21 votes, suggesting a modest but consistent reception.
