My Annoying Brother

Doo-sik is serving time in prison for fraud when he learns that his younger brother Doo-young, a promising judo athlete, has lost his sight after an accident during a competition. Doo-sik appears before the parole board and uses his brother's condition to argue for his release, which is granted on the condition that he look after Doo-young for a year. The two have been estranged for about fifteen years, and Doo-young has withdrawn from the world since going blind, with his former judo coach Soo-hyun among the few people still in contact with him. Doo-sik moves into the family home, and the brothers must find a way to live together despite their history.

The film is a comedy-drama directed by Kwon Soo-kyung from a screenplay by Yoo Young-a, produced by Lee Yong-nam and Choi Nak-kwon. Cho Jung-seok plays Doo-sik and Doh Kyung-soo plays Doo-young, with Park Shin-hye as Soo-hyun. It was released in Korea in November 2016 and runs 110 minutes.

The film took in about 21 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.3 from roughly 4,900 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 8 out of 10 from a much smaller base of 129 votes, so the higher figure there rests on far fewer responses than the IMDb score.
