30 Days of Night: Dark Days

Stella Oleson survived a vampire attack on her Alaskan town and has spent the months since trying to warn the world that the creatures are real. Dismissed and disbelieved, she is close to giving up when a group of strangers approaches her with a purpose: they hunt vampires, and they want her help to go after Lilith, the vampire queen behind the assault on her town. Stella settles in Los Angeles and joins their mission, hoping to avenge her husband's death while keeping the predators from striking again.

Ben Ketai directed this horror thriller, which he also wrote with Steve Niles, adapting Niles's own graphic novel. It is the first feature Ketai directed and the second film drawn from the 30 Days of Night comics, following the 2007 adaptation of the original story. Kiele Sanchez leads as Stella Oleson, with Mia Kirshner as Lilith, alongside Diora Baird, Rhys Coiro, Harold Perrineau and Monique Ganderton.

The film received a limited release in October 2010. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 10 from roughly 15,000 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 5 out of 10 from around 615 votes. A critics' score of 5.2 out of 10 from seven reviews places it close to the audience averages. Ketai went on to direct Beneath in 2013 and River Wild in 2023.
