The Endless

Two brothers who escaped a cult in their childhood are drawn back to it as adults. Justin and Aaron Smith have been scraping by in Los Angeles when a message from the group they left behind reaches them, and Aaron begins to wonder whether returning is worth considering. The reception they receive at the camp in the Southern California backcountry is warmer than they expected, but the place is not as they remember it, and the beliefs they dismissed as delusion start to look as though they might have something behind them.

The Endless is a horror, science fiction and thriller film directed by Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, who also play the two leads, with Benson writing the screenplay. It followed their earlier features Resolution, Spring and V/H/S: Viral in their joint filmography, and Callie Hernandez, Tate Ellington, Shane Brady and Lew Temple appear in supporting roles. It was produced by XYZ Films, Snowfort Pictures, Pfaff & Pfaff Productions and Love & Death Productions on a budget of about one million dollars.

On IMDb the film holds a rating of 6.5 from roughly 56,000 votes, and on TMDB it stands at 6.3 from around 1,360 votes, while a critics' rating sits considerably higher at 7.6 from 127 reviews.
