Jean-Etienne Fougerole is a wealthy intellectual and author who advocates for the rich to welcome needy people into their homes. During a televised debate to promote his new book, an opponent challenges him to practice his own beliefs. To avoid public embarrassment, Fougerole agrees to the challenge. Shortly after, a Roma family led by a man named Babik arrives at his villa in Marnes-la-Coquette. The writer and his wife, Daphné, must deal with the resulting chaos as their convictions are tested by their unexpected guests.
