Kirik Party

Karna arrives at an engineering college from a small town and quickly falls in with a group of hostel roommates, among them Loki, Alexander and Manja. Together they throw themselves into campus life, filling their days with pranks and troublemaking, until the story moves into more serious territory as friendships and romances take shape.

Kirik Party is a Kannada-language comedy-drama released in December 2016. It was directed by Rishab Shetty, who also wrote the screenplay, and produced by Rakshit Shetty and G. S. Gupta. Rakshit Shetty plays Karna, with Samyuktha Hegde, Rashmika Mandanna, Aravinnd Iyer, Chandan Achar and Dhananjay Ranjan in supporting roles. The film was the first feature Shetty directed, ahead of Sarkari. Hi. Pra. Shale Kasaragodu, Kantara and Kantara - A Legend: Chapter 1.

Its commercial performance was strong for a Kannada production, taking around 7 million US dollars worldwide. Audiences have received it warmly: on IMDb it holds 8.2 out of 10 across roughly 8,400 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.7 from a much smaller voter base of about 28. The wide gap in vote numbers reflects how much more heavily the film has been rated on the former platform.
