Toc Toc is a Spanish comedy about six patients who arrive at the office of a renowned psychologist for appointments at the same time. They share a diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder, and that is where their common ground ends. When the doctor's flight is delayed and he fails to appear, the group is left waiting with no idea how long the wait will last. Forced into one another's company, they must cope with each other's tics, impulses and rituals while trying to keep their own compulsions in check, and the situation gradually slides toward chaos. The film is based on the play by the French author and humourist Laurent Baffie.
Vicente Villanueva directed and wrote the screenplay, and the film was produced by Mercedes Gamero, Gonzalo Salazar-Simpson and Mikel Lejarza for Atresmedia and Lazonafilms. It runs 96 minutes and marked Villanueva's first feature as director, ahead of When Brooklyn Met Seville, The Key Game, The Tenderness and Desposados. The cast is led by Alexandra Jiménez, Paco León, Rossy de Palma, Oscar Martínez, Inma Cuevas and Adrián Lastra, with 30 credited performers and 41 credited crew members overall.
The ensemble of well-known Spanish actors gives the single-location premise much of its comic energy. Audience response has been warm rather than unanimous: on IMDb it holds a rating of 6.8 from more than 21,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.1 from a much smaller pool of about 1,200 voters.
