Otley

Gerald Otley is a small-time crook in London who drifts through life relying on the hospitality of others. After taking something from a friend who has put him up, he finds himself caught between rival parties who believe he is both a killer and a secret agent. Wanted by the police and pursued by criminals and intelligence services alike, he has to work out what is really going on while trying to stay alive.

Dick Clement directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Ian La Frenais. The film stars Tom Courtenay in the title role, with Romy Schneider as Imogen, Alan Badel as Alec Hadrian, James Villiers as Hendrickson, Leonard Rossiter as Johnson and James Bolam as Albert. It runs 91 minutes and was released in March 1969.
