Short description
A wealthy New York businessman who has become a quadriplegic following an accident hires a struggling former convict to be his personal caretaker. Despite their vastly different social backgrounds and personal hardships, the two men form an unexpected bond. As they navigate their daily routines together, they provide each other with the emotional support needed to find new meaning in their lives.
Directed by Neil Burger, this comedy-drama was released in 2019. It followed his previous work on The Illusionist, Limitless, and Divergent, and preceded Voyagers, The Marsh King's Daughter, and Inheritance. The film features a main cast including Bryan Cranston, Kevin Hart, and Nicole Kidman.

What's left behind the scenes
- The film owes its existence to The Weinstein Company, a fact noted in the copy of the movie screened at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. However, in the theatrical release, neither the company's name nor Weinstein's name as executive producer are mentioned, as the company went bankrupt and the rights to the film were sold to STX Entertainment.
- Chris Tucker, Jamie Foxx, Chris Rock, and Idris Elba were considered for the role that was eventually played by Kevin Hart.
- Unlike Bryan Cranston, who played Philip, Kevin Hart, in the role of Dell, had never flown a paraglider and didn't know how. Consequently, filming his paragliding scenes required a certain level of resourcefulness and ingenuity from the filmmakers. They used a special crane-mounted suspension system, a canopy to represent the paraglider's wing, a powerful fan to create wind, and a stunt double. It took five takes.
