Short description
After a rapid engagement, a dowdy daughter of a chemist weds an industrialist, knowing little of his family or past. He transforms her into an elegant society wife, but becomes enraged whenever she asks about Michael, his mysterious long-lost brother.
What's left behind the scenes
- MGM told actress Laraine Day (1920-2007) that if she starred in Edward Buzzell's (1895-1985) war drama "Keep Your Powder Dry" (1945), she would get the lead role in "Current Below" the following year. Day starred with Buzzell, but the studio backtracked and cast Katharine Hepburn (1907-2003) in the promised role in "Current Below." Day, in exchange for the role, asked (and her request was granted) to be released from her filming contract with MGM.
