Venomous

Genetically modified snakes escape a government facility following a terrorist attack and migrate toward Santa Mira Springs, California. Aided by seismic activity, the creatures emerge to bite residents, spreading a lethal virus that can be transmitted from person to person. While local doctors work to contain the outbreak, the military imposes a quarantine to hide the existence of the biological weapon. The conflict intensifies as medical professionals attempt to expose the cover-up and save the population before the army takes more drastic measures to erase the evidence of their experiments.

The horror and science fiction film was directed by Fred Olen Ray, marking the 12th of 27 films he directed. It followed Fugitive Rage in 1996 and preceded Stranded later in 2002. Produced by Alison Semenza and Jim Wynorski, the movie features a cast including Treat Williams, Mary Page Keller, Hannes Jaenicke, Catherine Dent, Tony Denison, and Geoff Pierson.
