Company Man

Set in the late 1950s and 1960s, this comedy follows Allen Quimp, a grammar teacher who lies to his demanding wife by claiming he is a secret CIA agent. This fabrication leads to unexpected complications, including assisting a Russian ballet dancer with a political defection. Quimp eventually finds himself in Cuba during a period of revolution, where he is tasked by the CIA to locate a mysterious individual known as Agent X.

The film was co-directed by Peter Askin and Douglas McGrath. For Askin, this was the first of three directed features, while for McGrath, it followed his 1996 film Emma and preceded four subsequent projects. The screenplay was written by both directors. The cast features Sigourney Weaver, Douglas McGrath, John Turturro, Anthony LaPaglia, Alan Cumming, and Jeffrey Jones.
