Neither Seen Nor Recognized

Set in the quiet French village of Montpaillard, this comedy follows the conflict between a clever poacher named Blaireau and a local officer determined to catch him. While Blaireau sells illegal game and fish to the townspeople, the officer struggles to uphold the law and often finds himself ridiculed. The situation complicates when a case of mistaken identity leads to an arrest, involving a timid piano teacher who is in love with a local woman.

The film was directed by Yves Robert, marking the first entry in a list of six films including The Fenouillard Family and War of the Buttons. He also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Jacques Celhay and Jean Marsan.
