Shimmer Lake

Shimmer Lake follows a local sheriff, Zeke Sikes, as he works to piece together what happened during a botched bank robbery carried out by three small-town criminals. One of the suspects is his own brother, Andy, which makes the case personal as well as professional. The story unfolds in reverse, moving back one day at a time across a single week, so the audience sees the aftermath before the events that caused it.

The film was released in 2017 and runs 86 minutes. It was directed by Oren Uziel, who also wrote the screenplay, with Adam Saunders and Britton Rizzio producing. Rainn Wilson plays Andy Sikes, Benjamin Walker plays Zeke Sikes, and the cast also includes John Michael Higgins, Rob Corddry, Adam Pally and Ron Livingston. It is a crime drama with mystery and thriller elements, made in Canada and the United States.

Reception was modest. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.3 from around 18,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.9 from roughly 480 votes. A critics' rating of 5.4 from nine reviews places it slightly below the audience scores, suggesting a mixed response overall.
