Braven

Braven is a 2018 action thriller set along the remote border country between the United States and Canada. Joe Braven works as a logger and lives a quiet life in the mountains with his family. That peace is broken when he and his father, Linden, discover a stash of drugs hidden at the family's isolated forest cabin by traffickers. When the criminals return for their shipment, Joe is forced to defend himself and his family against armed men who want no witnesses left behind. Joe knows the terrain and proves a resourceful opponent in a fight for survival.

The film was directed by Lin Oeding and written by Michael Nilon and Thomas Pa'a Sibbett. It is the first of two features Oeding directed in 2018, followed by Office Uprising. Jason Momoa stars as Joe Braven and also produced alongside Molly Hassell and Michael Nilon. Stephen Lang plays Linden, with Garret Dillahunt, Zahn McClarnon, Jill Wagner and Brendan Fletcher in supporting roles.

Made on a budget of about 5 million dollars and shot in Canada, the film runs 94 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.9 from over 41,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.2 from roughly 1,100 votes. A critics' rating of 5.8 from 31 reviews places professional assessment close to the audience response to this modestly scaled action drama.
